Linda’s ability as a singer was apparent in her early years when performing at dancing school in her home town of Manchester.
Later she honed her skills at the Royal Northern college. studying classical trumpet and singing. This followed at the jazz summer school with Sir John Dankworth and Dame Cleo Laine.
They encouraged Linda to write her own music and kind enough to score her very first composition. Linda went on to form a jazz/cabaret act touring with with major TV stars such as Des O Conner. This followed with numerous TV shows and asked to present a radio series with her songs and guests. in Malta where Linda was heard singing at the Malta jazz festival alongside Toots Thielesman.
Her work continued as a singer aboard Cunard cruise liners and entertaining the troops worldwide. An invitation followed from Prince Charles to sing at his de-mob party in recognition for her good deeds
Eric brings a unique, special and complementary musical “direction”, which is the music scene from the 50’s and 60’s and beyond into the 70’s .
He was there first time round, and reveled in the joys of seeing the unfolding magic of the
Rock n roll era of Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Cliff Richard, Billy Fury, Roy Orbison, Bobby Vee and many other popular artists of that time.
One of Eric’s most favourite Artists of those times is Buddy Holly. We think he sounds a lot like Buddy. Have a listen to some of the “buddy” emo tracks
Lots of Swing ( or “Rat pack” ) too . Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra etc
Eric plays Piano – and also guitar. One of his favourite Groups of the 1960s is the “shadows” – and plays live many of their greatest hits, such as Wonderful land, Atlantis, and of course that all time great “Apache”
And – as Buddy Holly would say – for those of you who “bop” – Eric springs to life with Rock n roll and many of those upbeat songs of those days !
Eric loves recreating all those hit songs that people just can’t resist getting up and dancing to. It never ceases to amaze us how both old and young request rock n roll songs – they are simply timeless!
